Claire Barnes, Investment Manager, manages the Apollo Asia Fund only; more information on this fund is available on the website of the investment adviser (www.apolloinvestment.com), as is biographical information.David Crichton-Watt, Managing Director, Scottish, graduated from Glasgow University in 1969 with an honors degree in law. He worked for stock broking companies in New York and London and, after 1972, in Singapore and Hong Kong, before founding Asian Investment Management Services in Hong Kong in 1982. In 1996 he decided to move to Malaysia, and established AIMS Asset Management Sdn Bhd, which assumed the management of portfolios previously run by the Hong Kong company.
Denise Lee, Office Manager, Malaysian, graduated from the University of Lincolnshire. She joined AIMS Asset Management in 1997.
Hue See Leng, General Manager and Compliance Officer, Malaysian, is a Certified Public Accountant. She started her career at Price Waterhouse and worked there for eight years. She joined AIMS Asset Management in 1997.
Humphrey Carey, Investment Manager, British, graduated from Oxford University in 1981 with a Bachelors degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He started his career with GT Management based in London, Hong Kong and Sydney, managing money in Asian markets. For the last fifteen years he has been with F&C Asset Management in London where as part of a team, he developed and grew the Global Emerging Markets business. He joined AIMS in September 2006. At AIMS, he is managing the Floreat Fund as well as helping to grow the business as a whole.
Jeffrey Yee, Finance Manager, graduated from Monash University, Australia with Bachelor of Business (Accounting) Degree. He commenced his professional career with Coopers & Lybrand in 1995 and in 1997, he joined AmMerchant Bank as auditor for three years and subsequently moved on to finance and accounting in the securities and IT industry. Overall, he has gained more than 10 years experience in audit, finance and accounting areas. In 2006, he joined Aims Asset Management. He is a member of CPA Australia and MIA.
Nik Hanim Nik Mahmood, Research Analyst, Malaysian, graduated from University College London with a BSc in Economics and Statistics in 2002. She then completed her Masters in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics in 2003. Prior to joining AIMS Asset Management, she worked at Credit Suisse for four years where she was part of the Malaysian Equity Research team.
Thomas Lim, Investment Manager, Malaysian, graduated from the Wharton Business School in Philadelphia with a BS Degree in Economics (Finance). He started his career in 1996 as a proprietary trader in Asian equities and derivatives at Maquarie Equities in Malaysia. At Mizuho in Tokyo he worked as proprietary trader and at Whitefield Capital Management in Singapore he helped manage an Asian hedge fund, before joining AIMS in 2004. He holds the CFA designation.
ADVISORS
Campbell Smyth, Cornerstone Advisors Pty Ltd, Investment Advisor, graduated from the University of Western Australia with a BA in Commerce. He has over fifteen years experience in commodity research and fund management and previously managed the Lion Resource Management (UK) mining portfolios from 1995 to 2000, before setting up his corporate advisory business. He specialises in the small cap companies in the mining sector and assists in managing the Phoenix Gold Fund.
